CORNBLASTING is an innovative new way of stripping logs by using ground up, dried corn cobs, instead of sand. Cornblasting is less abrasive than using sand and can be used as mulch for a garden or around plants when the job is done (if the stripped finish doesn't contain any lead). Typically with sandblasting the sand has to be hauled away adding extra expense. Cornblasting won't pit the logs the way sandblasting will (a light sanding is all that is required so that absorption of stain is more uniform) and so you can save time and expense by not having to sand the logs down so heavily.

Corn cob granules are used when a soft, less dusty, and environmentally safe abrasive is called for. Corn Cob granules are biodegradable, non-toxic and non-sparking. Corn Cob measures 4.5 on the MOHS scale.

Stripping has never been easier if you're using a corncob-blasting machine. You benefit in many ways:

• Stripping can be done in virtually any kind of weather, at any practical temperature.

• Since no water is involved, you can apply preservatives and stains immediately. No waiting for the wood to dry out.

• No harmful chemicals or damaging water will be forced through the walls.

• The surface is ideal for excellent penetration and adh/esion of coatings.

• The corn media is non-toxic and biodegradable.
